This policy explains what personal information Datagist collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it in plain English.
Who we are
Datagist LLC ("Datagist," "we," "us") is a data and AI consultancy organized under the laws of Delaware, with its principal place of business in Alpharetta, Georgia, United States. For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Datagist LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What this policy covers
This policy applies to datagist.ai and to the inquiries and job applications you send us through it, by email, or by phone. It does not cover the data we handle for clients during a consulting engagement. That data is governed by the contract for that engagement, under which we act on the client's instructions.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, work email address, company, the topic you select, and your message. When you download an accelerator overview, we collect your name, work email address, company, job title, anything you tell us about what you are working on, and whether you asked to receive updates from us. We use this to send you the download link, to follow up about your interest, and, only if you opted in, to send occasional updates about new accelerators. If you email or call us, we collect whatever you choose to share, along with your contact details. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, or health information through the website.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you request. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site, defend against attacks, and produce aggregate, cookie-free performance analytics. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots; Turnstile examines browser signals for that purpose and does not track you across sites.
When you use the search on our site, your question is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI, which generates an answer from the content of datagist.ai. We do not store your search questions. If you have accepted analytics cookies, the search term is recorded in Google Analytics, with email addresses and phone numbers removed first. Please do not enter personal information in the search box.
If you ask a question by voice, your browser asks for permission to use your microphone and records only while you are asking. The recording is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI, which converts it to text, and the text is then handled like a typed question. If you choose to listen to an answer, Cloudflare Workers AI converts the answer to speech. We do not store voice recordings or the generated audio of your questions, and the recording is not used to identify you.
With your consent, we also use analytics and marketing cookies described in the Cookies and analytics section below. Those tools collect information about how you use the site, such as which pages you view, how you arrived, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Information from other sources
If you contact us in a business capacity, we may look up publicly available professional information about you or your company, for example on LinkedIn or your company's website, to understand your inquiry and prepare for a conversation.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your inquiry and follow up on it.
- Scope, propose, and deliver consulting services, and manage our relationship with you and your company.
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website, including detecting and preventing abuse and bot traffic.
- Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it (analytics, with your consent).
- Recognize you as a returning visitor and connect your visits to your inquiry in our customer relationship management (CRM) system (marketing cookies, with your consent).
- Send you relevant information about our services where you have asked for it or where the law otherwise allows. You can opt out at any time.
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Job applicants
When you apply for a role through our careers site, careers.datagist.ai, we collect your name, email address, phone number, city and state, LinkedIn or portfolio link, work authorization status, your resume, and anything else you choose to tell us. Please do not include sensitive information such as government identifiers, date of birth, or health information in your resume.
We use this information only to assess your application, contact you about it, and consider you for similar roles, and to meet our legal obligations as an employer. Applications are stored in our applicant tracking system on careers.datagist.ai, which is hosted by Cloudflare (application details in a database and resumes in private file storage), and we are notified of new applications by email through our email provider, Resend. Only the people involved in hiring can see them, after signing in. If you are hired, your application becomes part of your employment record. If you are not, we keep your application for up to 24 months after our last contact so we can consider you for future roles, and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. You can ask us to delete your application at any time by emailing [email protected].
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, which you give when you submit the application, and on steps you ask us to take before entering into an employment contract. We do not use automated decision-making to reject applicants.
Speak Up reports
Our Speak Up form lets anyone report a concern about bribery, corruption, or other misconduct under our Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy. You do not have to give your name or any contact details. The form does not send us your IP address or browser details, and Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity do not run on that page, whatever your cookie choice. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is used by a person, without receiving your IP address from us.
Reports are emailed through Resend to our compliance mailbox and are not stored on the website. Only the people responsible for handling the report can see it. A report may include information about other people; we use it only to look into the concern, take any action that follows, and meet our legal obligations, and we keep it for as long as that requires. If you give contact details, we use them only to follow up on your report.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Consent for analytics and marketing cookies, and for marketing communications where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests in responding to inquiries, running and securing the website, understanding our audience, and marketing our services to business contacts, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Performance of a contract, or steps you ask us to take before entering one, when we scope and deliver services.
- Legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies in three categories: strictly necessary (required for the site to work and always on), analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, to understand how the site is used), and marketing (HubSpot, to recognize returning visitors and link visits to an inquiry). Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the link in the footer.
We use Google Consent Mode, so Google, Microsoft Clarity, and HubSpot tags on this site do not store cookies or send identifiable data until you consent, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal. The full list of cookies, their purposes and durations, and details of how consent works are in our Cookie Policy.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for the purposes described here. They are contractually limited to processing on our instructions.
- Cloudflare (United States): website hosting and content delivery, security, Turnstile bot verification, cookie-free web analytics, and Workers AI, which generates answers to site search questions and converts voice questions to text and answers to speech.
- Google (United States): Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, used only with your consent.
- Microsoft (United States): Microsoft Clarity, used only with your consent. Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, so we can find problems with the site and produce heatmaps. Text typed into forms is hidden before anything is sent to Microsoft.
- HubSpot (United States): our CRM, where we keep contact records for people who inquire about our services, and website tracking used only with your consent.
- Resend (United States): transactional email delivery for contact form submissions, Speak Up reports, and job applications.
- Our email, document, and productivity providers, which store the correspondence and records of our business.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants; to comply with law, a court order, or a lawful request from a public authority; to protect the rights, safety, or property of Datagist, our clients, or others; and in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this policy.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and the providers listed above process data there. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. For transfers from the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) with our providers, and on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards using the contact details below.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiries and related correspondence for as long as we are in contact with you and for up to 24 months after our last interaction, unless we enter into an engagement, in which case records are kept for the life of the relationship and for the period required by tax, accounting, and contract law afterwards. Google Analytics user-level data is retained for 14 months. Microsoft Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days (9 months for recordings we mark to keep) and heatmap data for 9 months. HubSpot contact records are kept until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed. Server and security logs are kept by Cloudflare for short periods in line with its policies.
Security
We protect personal information with technical and organizational measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and security review of the tools we use. Contact form submissions are delivered directly to our mailbox and are not stored in a public-facing database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously: our practice is built around it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we process your personal information and receive a copy of it.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Opt out of marketing communications, using the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In the EEA, this is the authority in your member state; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will verify your request, usually by confirming it from the email address we hold for you, and respond within the time required by law, normally within 30 days. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may ask the agent for proof of authority.
US state privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information, its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We honor these requests from anyone, whether or not a given law applies to a business of our size.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in Information we collect (identifiers, professional information, and internet activity) for the purposes described in How we use information, and disclosed them to the service providers listed in Who we share information with. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information other than as needed to provide our services. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; we will tell you the outcome and how to contact your state attorney general if you are not satisfied.
Children
This site is for businesses and professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party sites
The site links to third-party sites such as LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to tell you, for example by email or a notice on the site.
